Liverpool City Region (LCR) was the first region in the country to declare a Climate Emergency and saw the launch of LCR’s Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). The LCWIP is a ten-year strategy that sets out to make walking and cycling the modes of choice for people across the city region, recognising that enabling safe and efficient active travel..

To effectively monitor, analyse and communicate the impact of extensive cycling and walking investment to its citizens and further incentivise active travel, LCR have been using VivaCity AI-powered computer vision sensors alongside a variety of schemes, including digital apps, learn-to-ride facilities, and new active travel routes. Our sensors detect pedestrian, cycling and e-scooter movements and behaviours, enabling LCR to analyse real-time active travel insights.
