2020 - 2021

Video analytics procurement from the market

After identifying Video analytics as a high quality, accurate, and future-proof route to traffic data collection, TfGM went out to market and awarded VivaCity a 3-year contract to call-off monitoring across the region, including making it available to local authority partners.

The technology was also deployed to control traffic signals in Salford, pioneering an AI-first approach to traffic control. Read more

2022

100+ sensors installed across Active Travel Funded projects

Since 2022, 200+ sensors have been rolled out across the Greater Manchester transport network for Active Travel, Smart Junctions, Network Monitoring, School Streets and more.
