2026 Walking Tour - Parramatta - Icon

Join VivaCity for a practical walk through four sensor locations along Parramatta River. Starting at Macarthur Street Bridge, the route follows the riverfront through Queens Wharf Reserve, crosses the Alfred Street Bridge and finishes near the Tramway Avenue light rail stop.

This is an opportunity to see how a connected network of sensors can help make walking, cycling and public-transport access more visible in the evidence base for transport and place decisions.

What you will learn:

✅ How to turn a transport, active-travel or public-realm question into a clear monitoring scope.
✅ How a connected sensor network can build an evidence base across a river crossing, foreshore path and light-rail access point.
✅ What counts, speeds, paths and other configured insights can show at different types of location.
✅ How continuous, anonymised multimodal data can support safer, more people-centred decisions.

At each stop, we will ask:
What decision is this site designed to inform? Which movements matter? What would success look like after a change?

VivaCity sensors use AI-powered edge processing to produce anonymised, aggregate transport insights; the walk focuses on movements and place performance, not personal data.

The walk is ideal for:
Smart City, Data & Insights and Transport professionals.
